The Town of Rhinebeck

On an early Monday morning, I drove into the historic town of Rhinebeck, a little hidden gem hidden in the Hudson Valley. The drive I took through the town can be described only as beautiful, gorgeous, historic, and quaint.

I originally came in knowing that it was the home of Samuel’s Sweet Shop, which is part-owned by actor, Paul Rudd, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Hilarie Burton Morgan. You may know Rudd from his hit Marvel role as Ant-Man. Walking into the store, it is very small, but the good news is they have sweets and candies lined up and down the walls.

Rhinebeck is also home of Mischief Farm, owned by Walking Dead actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan and his wife who also is an actress most known for her role as Peyton Sawyer on One Tree Hill, Hilarie Burton Morgan. The Morgans have made quite a name for themselves here in Rhinebeck. From participating in local activities held in the town to even donating their own farm-grown products and selling them to businesses to use.

As I walked around the town I saw some really beautiful sites and the building all seem to have a story to tell. Whether it is what the home was used for or who lived there. On West Market Street, right outside Aroi, a Thai Cusine restaurant, there are beautiful places to sit and enjoy a tasty meal, chat with a friend, and look at the beautiful buildings and scenery on the street.

Since I am an outsider here, I think it was quite clear to them as well that I was, someone came up to me and asked if I needed help. That person was so nice to me and showed me around the town for twenty minutes showing me which places had good breakfast food, where grocery stores were, cafes, and the sweet shop. I wish I could give them the recognition they deserve because they were amazing at giving directions.

If you are like me and have zero clue as to where to go and what to see, there is a historical map of Rhinebeck, it also has brochures you can use to travel the beautiful town. If you don’t want to use a map, the locals are very nice and helpful.

If you ever feel the need or want to go somewhere that has a history to it as well as an amazing present, please make your way to Rhinebeck, NY. There are many places here you can stay like, The Gables, Beekman Arms & Delamater Inn, the Mirabel Inn which also has a gorgeous spa, and so many more. You can also look for places to stay using Airbnb.

With all of its history, Rhinebeck is seen by tourists and locals as a remarkable place to see. Make sure you make a trip to see it and stop at Samuel’s Sweet Shop and get their fruit smoothies as well as their delicious candy!

Here are some more pictures that I took while visiting Rhinebeck. Both of these pictures were taken on West Market Street.
